Former fashion magazine editor Nathalie Croquet wanted to take on a different role in the industry, so she stepped in front of the camera to parody high-fashion ads.

Along with photographer Daniel Schweizer, a makeup artist, and a hairdresser, Croquet started her project, called SPOOF , last summer in France.

She drew on 30 years of experience in fashion working with more than 200 photographers.

"I don't really see myself" when looking at the photos, Croquet told BuzzFeed News. "You know, like how you don't recognize your voice in a telephone message."
