In case you missed it, supermarket chain Woolworths launched an Anzac Day website yesterday and it DID NOT go well.

People were particularly upset by the 'Fresh in our memories' line, because World War I diggers are not the same as capsicums.

Visitors could generate their own Anzac-themed profile photos at the website, which has since been taken down.

"We regret that our branding on the picture generator caused offense, this was clearly not our intention," Woolworths said last night.

Like many heritage Australian companies, we were marking our respect for ANZAC and our veterans. We continue to be proud supporters of the RSL and Camp Gallipoli in this important year and look forward to working with them in the future."

That didn't stop Twitter users mocking Woolies all night.

But Woolies aren't the only ones turning a buck from Anzac Day.

Football clubs love an Anzac themed jersey. The great ANZAC profit Tumblr has pulled together some of the best examples.

This year, patriots could sign up for the "Gallipoli 100th anniversary cruise".

The cruise, which will dock just off the Gallipoli peninsula on Anzac Day, offers guests the chance to commemorate in comfort.

"Those attending the service will need to overnight at North Beach leaving them exposed to the elements," the cruise's website says.

"Amenities on the peninsula are limited and the weather is unknown, rain fell when our ANZACs landed so you need to be prepared for both the overnight chill and possible rain.

Whilst we have no control over the weather our cruise guests will be in the comfort of their cabins up to 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the dawn service. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available 24/7 and breakfast will follow the service."

Not that just anyone could go to Anzac Cove anyway. In order to do that, you had to win a ballot months ago.
