First off, have an idea of what you want and a general style. Hyper-realistic? Traditional? Cartoony? Watercolor?

Maybe you have a meaningful reason for the tattoo you're getting, maybe you’re interested in bringing a new aesthetic to your body, or maybe there's an artist you really want to work with. Whatever the case, it's good to have an idea of what you're looking for.
