“Not one float protested against the killing of gays by the Islamic State…”

Australia's most read conservative columnist Andrew Bolt has questioned why there was not a float protesting against ISIS at Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Bolt asked the question on The Bolt Report on Sunday morning, claiming the local LGBT community had gone "missing" in speaking out against ISIS attacks on gay people in Syria and Iraq.

"The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras had 150 floats last night, not one float protested about the killing of gays by Islamic State, which I thought was rather more serious than Catholic church problems," he said.

Gay men and women have been targeted by ISIS in its attacks against civilians over the last year, with reports that they have been thrown from buildings in public executions.

Former Labor politician Gary Johns was a panelist on the show and labelled Australian LGBT groups "self indulgent".

"It's all about them and their job prospects. So there's no solidarity with gays and women around the world and essentially, they're anti-Western," said Mr Johns.

Bolt also admonished Australia's art community for not speaking out against ISIS destruction of historical artifacts.

Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators with Australian politicians uniting to celebrate the local LGBT community.
