An expressionist tour de force to be sure–but it lacks the crucial human element. By not including any human forms, Monet's sun-dappled near-masterpiece fails at the artists' primary goal: Telling the viewer exactly how to feel.

Van Gogh's The Starry Night

Perhaps van Gogh just never mastered the technique of perspective, because the stars and the moon and that big mountain-y/castle thing all look the wrong size. Here's a quick fix: Add in a villager for perspective.
